Who we are...
LAWS is a 501 (3)(C) non-profit organization staffed by dedicated volunteers working for the benefit of animals in Leavenworth County since 1991. We are entirely funded by donations.
Our primary goals:

Reducing pet overpopulation.

A home for every pet.

End to euthanasia of adoptable animals.
How do we do this?
LAWS outreach program offers FREE
spay/neuter for all cats and dogs of
Leavenworth County residents. Since the
start of our program in 2010, LAWS has
paid for over 20,000 spay/neuter procedures.

What else does LAWS do?

Saving Lives of animals at risk of euthanasia. We provide medical care, short-term foster care and transportation to rescue groups who find forever homes.

LAWS Free Pet Food Pantry for Leavenworth residents is open the first and third Saturdays of each month from 1-3 pm Shawnee St. side of HOPE Thrift Store, 101 N Broadway St.

Public Education LAWS volunteers are available to speak to community groups and schools on pet-related care and issues.

Medical Assistance LAWS offers limited financial assistance for emergency and necessary medical care for pets whose owners have limited resources.
